The Board Basics
The Snapper measures at 9’4” and is just long enough to provide stability for little riders but is not so big that little hands can’t carry it themselves. The board is 27” wide which should be plenty of space for smaller paddlers if you’re a grown paddler using the Snapper you may run into some balance issues.
Again with the kids in mind, the whole board only weighs 17 lbs and packs down into the included backpack for effortless transportation. The Snapper features a molded iFin system, less moving parts make it easier for kids to operate. The pliable fins fold down with the board and pop right back up to perky upon inflation.

Building the Board
Made from MSL Fusion technology and Tec Air construction the Snapper is an extremely rigid and lightweight iSUP; no air leakage is guaranteed from the machine laminated seams. The body of the snapper is specially crafted for kids to maneuver in any water condition, a narrow nose and wide deck pad provide stability at lower speeds. The top deck of the Snapper is covered in embossed EVA foam with a diamond grooved tail pad for better grip when surfing and turning.
A soft carrying handle is in the center of the board for transporting and grab handles are at the nose and tail of the board for help when launching and docking. A leash point and inflation valve are located at the tail of the board and the nose holds the most useful feature; the deck net.
Attached with six multi-purpose D-rings the deck net provides a secure space for extra gear or a place to hold your paddle when you feel like taking a break. The Snapper has simple yet useful features and really provides an opportunity for young riders to really gain some independence.
A standard Red Paddle Co premium accessory package is included with the Snapper. You receive your board in the exclusive all-terrain backpack with a foil lining for protecting your gear in any temperature. The Snapper also comes with a super easy-to-use Titan pump for fast inflation, as well as a repair kit and waterproof phone pouch.
On the Water
Whether you’re a first-time junior paddler or a big kid looking to practice some surf, the Snapper could not be easier to use. All of the features of the Snapper are useful yet simple so kids can focus on learning to balance and paddle. This board is the perfect platform to use for learning and practice. The stability and glide inspire confidence, and the board doesn’t move fast enough to scare the smallest of riders.
The Snapper is easy to paddle and even easier to maneuver, kids will enjoy it so much they will forget they’re learning. Turning is easy and for the first hundred or so falls, the deck pad provides a safe landing space. Choppier waters are easy to handle but flat waters are where the Snapper really shines.
Pros and Cons: An Explanation
What is there not to love about this simply designed yet functional iSUP? The only thing we wish to see is the inclusion of an ankle leash, for a board designed for children it would be nice to have the extra safety features included.
Where to Purchase Products
If you are on the hunt for a Red Paddle Co board for yourself, you’re in luck. You can purchase these amazing boards directly from the company website; from a number of retailers online and unlike many other companies, you can even find Red Paddle Co boards in select retail stores.
When the kids are tired of being passengers and are ready for their own iSUP, the Snapper 9’4” is the perfect way to give the little ones some much-needed freedom and fun. The Snapper is easy to control in any water condition, as long as you don’t take your first-timer down the rapids. The all-around size and functionality of the Snapper ensure that the kids can use it from those first paddles to their first race, hopefully. If your little rider is ready to learn some sweet moves, gain independence and practice some responsibility, why not put the Snapper under the Christmas tree?
