The Board Basics
Red Paddle Co performed extensive R&D before crafting the Wild, the 9’6” board has a squared off midsection at 34” wide for increased maneuverability and uncompromised stability in choppy waters. The board itself can hold up to 265 pounds so even larger riders can get their thrills too. A molded quad-iFin setup features short fins for shallow waters with a removable center fin for better tracking and control in calmer conditions. The solid Wild weighs a full 28 pounds and can be transported in the included all-terrain backpack.

Building the Board
Red Paddle Co used their exclusive MSL Fusion technology in order to make a bombproof board capable of cutting through boiling waters and taking a few blows from sharp rocks. The specially designed shape of the Wild was designed to break in and out of the rushing river while maintaining control over the chop. The top deck is covered in diamond grooved embossed foam for extra traction when things start to get slippery. Three easy to grab handles are in the center of the board for added safety and peace of mind while there is a grab handle each at the nose and tail of the board for loading in and out of the water. The raised tail pad allows you to feel the edge of your board and where your foot needs to be without taking your eyes off the water. There is a high-quality inflation valve at the tail of the board accompanied by the leash connect D-ring. Back up to the nose of the board we see a deck storage bungee system attached with 6 more multi-purpose D-rings. Three rubber cargo strips are under the bungee for keeping your gear securely in place, an especially nice feature to have when your ride is bound to be rocky.

The Wild feels stable and sturdy under the feet and the addition of extra grab handles is extremely useful especially since as a whitewater rafter you probably spend plenty of time falling off and getting back on your board. The Wild turns incredibly sharp and is a very easy to maneuver and responsive board, especially with the help of the raised kick pad. The curved rocker helps it cut through and stay in contact with the surface of the water.
